Tuscany and Elba
This guidebook is the definitive rock climbing and sport climbing guidebook for the Tuscany region of Italy from the Apuan Alps to Argentario. The majority of the climbing is situated to the west of Florence around the towns of Pisa, Viareggio, Carrara, Massa, and Lucca. Also included are crags on the island of Elba (Isola D?Elba).
The guidebook describes 116 major crags and details 1,000?s of bolted sport routes, across a wide range of grades. The climbing to be found in Tuscany is very diverse and this is very well reflected within the guidebook. The vast majority of the routes covered are single pitch, though there are a few 2-pitch and 3-pitch routes included as well.
All the climbs are shown on clear topo diagrams with short descriptions where appropriate. At the start of each crag, there is information regarding orientation, altitude, how good the parking is, how popular it is, and the general beauty of the crag. Each crag has a location map, QR code for the parking, and a good description giving a general overview of the area and type of rock climbing to be found there. Also included is a table showing the total number of routes at each grade.
